Does a property owner have a duty to provide security guards?

Return to Video FAQs

Transcript:

That depends upon the relationship between the property owner and the person on the property. In Pennsylvania, there are three kinds of people on land. There are trespassers, and they’re owed no duty. There are social guests, and they likewise would not be owed a duty to have security guards. And then there are business invitees. Business invitees would be entitled to have security guards, provided that the owner or the occupier of the property was aware that there was a potential for danger or injury.
