van der Veen, Hartshorn & Levin has filed suit on behalf of Hilary Musser, former wife of the late Warren “Pete” Musser, against Pete’s former company Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., and its subsidiary Bonfield Insurance.

The Complaint asserts that Safeguard Scientifics and Bonfield Insurance colluded with Pete Musser, following his dramatic losses after the dot-com bubble, to save his vast wealth through secretive agreements and the company strongarming Ms. Musser into signing over her assets to repair Mr. Musser’s debts. During the couple’s divorce proceedings, Mr. Musser colluded with Safeguard Scientifics to deprive Ms. Musser and the couple’s young son of her assets promised in her prenuptial agreement.

Ms. Musser discovered these facts after Pete Musser’s death in 2019 and her subsequent naming as Executrix of his Estate.
