Since our founding in 2014, van der Veen, Hartshorn, Levin & Lindheim has been proud to be a part of the greater Philadelphia community. This holiday season, we’re honored to support an organization that plays a vital role in helping our neighbors who are experiencing hardship. Broad Street Love provides essential services with dignity and compassion, making a meaningful impact across the Philadelphia community.
van der Veen, Hartshorn, Levin & Lindheim Collecting Clothing for the Unhoused in Philadelphia
The entire month of November, van der Veen, Hartshorn, Levin & Lindheim has been collecting various clothing items, including coats, sweaters, socks, and other everyday clothing essentials for Broad Street Love, who offers a free year-round clothing boutique for those in need. Individuals interested in getting gently-used clothing can schedule a private appointment and shop for up to five seasonally-appropriate items. In 2024, Broad Street Love was successfully able to distribute clothing to 3,247 Philadelphia residents.
As we approach the winter season, Broad Street Love’s most-needed items include men and women’s underwear, socks, long-sleeve shirts, hoodies, casual pants, and sweaters, as well as personal hygiene products such as deodorant and shaving cream.

Broad Street Love: Making a Difference
Broad Street Love is an amazing organization that puts the needs of the local Philadelphia community first. Guided by its philosophy of “Radical Hospitality,” the organization welcomes every guest without judgment or barriers, creating a place where people can receive the support they need and feel genuinely seen and valued. Their work is rooted in the belief that even in moments of crisis, every person deserves kindness, respect, and the chance to move forward.
From their home on Broad Street, Broad Street Love provides essential services that go far beyond emergency assistance. Guests can enjoy chef-prepared meals served in a warm, communal setting, access clean clothing through a boutique-style experience, receive critical hygiene supplies, and use the organization as a mailing address, a service that often becomes a lifeline for individuals without permanent housing.
Just as importantly, Broad Street Love offers one-on-one support through its concierge and guest relations team, helping people navigate complex challenges such as obtaining identification, securing healthcare, finding employment, and connecting with housing resources. These services work together to break the cycles of hunger, housing instability, and social isolation that so many Philadelphians face.
